A Record Number of Buyers Are Planning to Move in 2025 - Are You Going to Be One of Them?

Here's why now might be a good time to sell your house. A recent poll by NerdWallet found that 15% of people want to buy a house this year (Renter, 2025). That's a Nerdy NerdWallet high! See graph below:

So what's the big deal?  Well, since 2020, the number has been stuck between 9 and 11 percent (Renter, 2025). This recent rise shows that buyer demand hasn't gone away; if anything, it shows that buyers are ready to return to the market.

It doesn't mean that a lot of people will want to buy right away, like we saw a few years ago. This does, however, mean that there will be more buyer activity this year than last.

Some buyers who put their plans on hold for a while will start looking again. This is the year they want to make the move, whether they're feeling more sure about their circumstances, have finally saved enough money to buy, or just can't wait any longer. Will you be among the new buyers who make the leap?

The same NerdWallet poll from above also found that more than half of those people who might buy have already started looking at homes online again (54%) (Renter, 2025).

That's a good sign that some of these buyers will be looking this spring, which also happens to be during the busiest time of the year to buy a home. You can get your house in front of them if you find the right agent (ahem) who will make sure it is ready, priced right, and marketed to the extreme!
